| OCDB's Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Young Adult ProgramThe OCDB's Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Young Adult Program provides high quality services for young adults beginning with career exploration and guidance, continued support for educational attainment, opportunities for skills training in in-demand industries and occupations, and culminating with a good job along a career pathway or enrollment in post-secondary education. Through a network of regional service providers, the OCDB’s WIOA Young Adult Program focuses on offering eligible participants access to components that will successfully connect them to education and/or in-demand industries occupations: - Tutoring, study skills training and instruction
- Alternative secondary school services or dropout recovery services
- Paid and unpaid work experiences
- Occupational skill training
- Education offered concurrently with and in the same context as workforce preparation activities and training for a specific occupation
- Leadership development opportunities
- Supportive services
- Adult mentoring
- Follow-up services
- Comprehensive guidance and counseling
- Financial literacy education
- Entrepreneurial skills training
- Services that provide labor market and employment information
- Activities that help prepare for and transition to post-secondary education and training

- Ages 16-24
- One or more of the following:
- School dropout
- High school graduate and basic skills deficient/English language learner (must be low income)
- Offender
- Homeless, runaway or foster child
- Pregnant or parenting
- Disabled
In-School Young Adult Individual who is: - Attending school
- Ages 14-21
- Low income (eligible if receiving free or reduced price school lunch)
- One or more of the following:
- Basic skills deficient/English language learner
- Offender
- Homeless, runaway or foster child
- Pregnant or parenting
- Disabled
